Angela Waweru an awardee of 2024 Top 40 Under 40 Women in Kenya recognized for her efforts on empowering girls and women in Kenya. Angela has a combined experience in Media, Marketing, Education, Entrepreneurship and the Nonprofit Sector, both in the UK and Kenya. This led her to help found Sister Speaks Global (SSG) and Heels4Pads (H4P) Foundation, organisation’s that are dedicated to advancing the interests of girls and women. SSG is committed to organizing holistic and educational programmes that give women a secure environment in which to grow personally and professionally. SSG uses its digital channels to offer inspirational, motivating, and informative resources. H4P focuses on giving access to menstruation products and menstrual health education while increasing awareness of the difficulties that girls and women confront due to period poverty.

Her role is versatile but she places a strong emphasis on creating the curriculum for menstrual health and girl’s mentorship program, curating digital media content, designing communication materials for internal and external audiences, implementing fundraising plans, and establishing and sustaining partnerships. Angela lends her voice, mainly through the SSG affiliated OVA React Podcast, which has Capital FM Kenya as a local media partner. The podcast's goal is to curate conversations on issues pertaining to women and invite a variety of well-known guests to discuss various aspects of their journeys. In its first year of production, the podcast has over 600,000+ streams and counting.
Angela is also the Chairperson of CRAWN Trust which is a change catalyst organisation intent on providing African women and girls with the tools, voice and platforms in which they can effect change at individual, family, community within local, regional, national, continental levels in economic, social and political spheres.

Angela also doubles up as a Corporate MC/Events Coordinator as well as a moderator for a range of high-profile conversations on women-related topics, tech, climate action, health, digital and many more. She has participated in a range of events organized by various reputable brands and organisation’s such as African Women In Tech (AWIT), Microsoft ADC, European Investment Bank, KEPSA, African Circular Economy Network (ACEN) and many more.

Angela's dedication to closing the gender equality gap serves as her driving force. Through the efforts of her organisation’s, she hopes to create chances for girls and women to receive mentoring, offer entrepreneurship opportunities, promote better menstrual health policies in Kenya, develop long-lasting solutions, and gather data that will push policymakers to be more inclusive in terms of opportunities for economic empowerment and skill development. She is keen to engage in events, curate content and conversations that educate, inspire and enrich the masses on matters that benefit humankind, animals and the environment.
